Our first trip to Helen, Georgia was
to attend a U.S. Rider News
Mortorcycle Rally. The goal was to
camp at a state park. The tent can
be seen on the front forks of the
bike, there is a water bag between
the handlebars, and sleeping bags,
mats, clothes, camp stove, ice
chest, tarp, and other items are on
the back of the bike.
The trip started out fine, but the
weather report said rain was in the
forecast for seven days. We
decided if we got really desperate
we could get a room. It rained part
of at least 5 days, but we survived.
One morning the tent was actually
floating. Fortunately, I had sealed
on the seams and none of the
water came inside.
This was truly an adventure.

For the second trip, we traded one
of our times shares for a two
bedroom unit in Helen so we would
have room for four of us. We still
took the bike, but just used it for
some day trips.
